CodyRouter — Usage Policy
Last Updated: May 25, 2026
This Usage Policy describes the conduct that is prohibited when accessing or using the CodyRouter website, applications, APIs, developer tools, and related services (collectively, the "Services"), the additional safeguards required for high-risk use cases, and the actions we may take in response to violations.
This Usage Policy supplements, and is incorporated by reference into, our Terms of Service and Privacy Policy. Capitalized terms used but not defined here have the meaning given to them in the Terms of Service. By accessing or using the Services, you agree to comply with this Usage Policy.

1. Core Principles
You must not use the Services to harm others, infringe rights, evade laws, disrupt systems, manipulate the public, commit fraud, circumvent platform restrictions, or engage in any activity that violates Applicable Laws, third-party rights, the policies of any Approved Provider, or this Usage Policy. You are responsible for your account, your API keys, the Inputs you submit, the way you use the Outputs you receive, and any downstream products or services you build on top of the Services.
2. Compliance with Approved Provider Policies
The Services route your Inputs to Approved Providers that operate the underlying Third-Party Models. Your use of any Third-Party Model is subject not only to this Usage Policy but also to the acceptable-use policy, content policy, safety policy, and other applicable terms of the relevant Approved Provider (collectively, the "Provider AUPs").
You are responsible for reviewing and complying with the Provider AUPs of every Approved Provider whose Third-Party Models you access through the Services. The Provider AUPs are independent of this Usage Policy. Conduct permitted by this Usage Policy may nevertheless be prohibited by a Provider AUP, in which case the Provider AUP governs your use of the relevant Third-Party Model. A violation of any Provider AUP is independently a violation of this Usage Policy.
We have no obligation to mirror, summarize, or notify you of changes to any Provider AUP. Links to current Provider AUPs are made available on the Services where reasonably practicable, but you remain responsible for reviewing the most current version directly from the relevant Approved Provider.
3. Prohibited Uses
You must not use the Services to engage in, facilitate, attempt, or assist any of the following:
Unlawful Activity. Planning, assisting, concealing, or committing any unlawful, regulation-evading, or law-enforcement-evading conduct under Applicable Laws of any jurisdiction in which you reside, are located, or are otherwise subject.
Fraud and Abuse. Phishing, scams, identity fraud, fake transactions, payment fraud, chargeback abuse, reward arbitrage, referral fraud, spam, or deceptive marketing.
Cybersecurity Misuse. Unauthorized scanning, intrusion, credential attacks, vulnerability exploitation, denial-of-service activity, abusive scraping, bypassing access controls, or disrupting third-party systems.
Malicious Code. Generating, modifying, deploying, obfuscating, distributing, or assisting the operation of malicious code, ransomware, trojans, credential stealers, spyware, or detection-evasion tools.
Circumvention of Restrictions. Bypassing rate limits, paywalls, geographic restrictions, content filters, safety measures, model-level restrictions, platform access controls, eligibility restrictions, or any Provider AUP, including by use of a VPN, proxy, anonymizer, or any other technical or non-technical means.
Privacy Violations. Unauthorized collection, inference, disclosure, trafficking, or misuse of personal information, sensitive personal data, credentials, location data, communications, or surveillance data.
Child Safety. Generating, soliciting, distributing, or assisting any content or activity that exploits, harms, grooms, sexualizes, or endangers minors. This is a strict and non-negotiable prohibition.
Hate, Harassment, and Violence. Inciting hatred, discrimination, harassment, threats, self-harm, violent extremism, terrorism, or real-world harm against any person or group.
Weapons and Dangerous Activities. Assisting in the design, acquisition, modification, or use of weapons (including chemical, biological, radiological, nuclear, or cyber weapons), explosives, or hazardous materials, or providing guidance that materially facilitates physical harm to persons.
Misinformation. Mass-producing or distributing misleading content, fabricated media, false identities, impersonation of authoritative sources, or information that endangers public safety.
Political Manipulation. Election manipulation, voter suppression, falsification of political identity, micro-targeted persuasion, automated propaganda, or interference with public participation in democratic processes.
Platform Abuse. Reselling, proxying, aggregating, exposing or sharing API keys, sharing accounts, abnormal concurrency, bulk account creation, evading risk controls, abusing referral or promotional rewards, or otherwise disrupting service stability.
Training Competing Models. Using the Services, any Third-Party Model, or any Output to develop, train, fine-tune, distill, evaluate against, benchmark, or otherwise improve any artificial-intelligence model or service that competes with the Services or with any Approved Provider, except to the extent expressly permitted in writing by both us and the relevant Approved Provider.
Misrepresentation of AI Content. Presenting Outputs as human-generated where the context would reasonably mislead another person, or failing to comply with any disclosure obligation imposed by Applicable Laws or by any Provider AUP in respect of AI-generated content.
4. Security Research Exception
Lawful, authorized, low-risk security research, code audits, log analysis, defensive testing, and vulnerability remediation may generally be conducted using the Services, provided that:
- you have explicit and verifiable authorization from the owner of every system, codebase, or dataset involved;
- you do not access, copy, damage, or disclose third-party systems or data without authorization;
- you do not request the Services to generate content that can be directly weaponized for attack, persistence, credential theft, detection evasion, or expansion of an attack surface; and
- your activity complies with all Applicable Laws and all applicable Provider AUPs.
The security-research exception does not authorize, and shall not be construed to authorize, any activity that any applicable Provider AUP independently prohibits.
5. High-Risk Use Cases
If you use the Services in connection with legal, medical, financial, insurance, employment, housing, education evaluation, credit, news content, public-service delivery, critical infrastructure, or any other context in which Outputs may materially affect an individual's rights, safety, opportunities, property, or health (collectively, "High-Risk Use Cases"), you must implement additional safeguards, including:
- meaningful human review of Outputs before they are relied upon or shown to end users;
- review by qualified professionals where the subject matter so requires;
- independent verification of accuracy;
- clear and conspicuous disclosure to affected individuals that AI is involved;
- risk warnings appropriate to the context;
- a meaningful appeal or correction mechanism for affected individuals; and
- a compliance program that satisfies all Applicable Laws governing the relevant High-Risk Use Case (including AI-specific regulation where applicable).
You must also confirm, in advance, that the relevant Approved Provider and the relevant Third-Party Model are permitted under their respective Provider AUPs to be used in the High-Risk Use Case. Many Provider AUPs prohibit specific High-Risk Use Cases outright.
6. Responsibility for Outputs
Outputs are generated by Third-Party Models and may be inaccurate, incomplete, outdated, repetitive, biased, or unsuitable for your specific context. You must not treat any Output as the sole basis for any decision that materially affects an individual's rights, welfare, safety, or substantial interests. Before displaying, publishing, sending, embedding, or otherwise relying on any Output, you must review, test, filter, and validate it, and you bear sole responsibility for the consequences of doing so.
7. Content, Data, and Third-Party Rights
You must not submit through the Services any code, data, documents, secrets, personal information, trade secrets, copyrighted material, or other third-party material that you do not have the right to use. You must not use the Services to generate, circumvent, or distribute content that infringes intellectual-property rights, privacy rights, trade-secret protections, contractual obligations, or any other rights of any third party.
You are responsible for ensuring that your submission of any Input — and your use of the corresponding Output — does not violate any Provider AUP, any data-handling restriction imposed by any Approved Provider, or any obligation you owe to any third party.
8. Fair Use, Service Stability, and No Resale
You must not, through automation, batching, proxying, reselling, credential sharing, abnormal concurrency, bypassing limits, or otherwise: (a) impair service stability; (b) generate unreasonable cost; (c) degrade the experience of other users; or (d) circumvent the pricing of the Services.
We may set, adjust, and enforce rate limits, concurrency limits, queues, risk controls, request filters, output filters, and other protective measures at our sole discretion.
No Wholesale Use. Without our prior written authorization, you may not package, resell, rent, proxy, sublicense, share, or otherwise make available CodyRouter's APIs, Credits, account access, API keys, or access to any Third-Party Model to any third party as a downstream API service, aggregation service, forwarding service, or competing service. The Services are an end-user routing platform, not a wholesale input for derivative or competing aggregators.
9. Enforcement
If we reasonably believe that you have violated this Usage Policy, any Provider AUP, Applicable Laws, or our platform-security requirements, we may take one or more of the following actions, at our sole discretion and without prior notice:
- restrict, suspend, or terminate your account, subscription, Credits, API keys, model access, or specific features;
- block, filter, throttle, delay, or refuse to process relevant requests, Inputs, Outputs, files, or links;
- revoke promotional eligibility, cancel rewards, recover anomalous Credits, decline refunds, or decline further transactions with you;
- require you to delete content, cease the relevant use, provide an explanation, complete a security remediation, or re-confirm acceptance of our terms;
- retain, disclose, or transfer relevant records where required by law or necessary to protect the rights, safety, or interests of CodyRouter, our users, our Approved Providers, or other parties;
- forward relevant information to the affected Approved Provider, where the violation implicates that Approved Provider's AUP; and
- pursue any other remedy available under the Terms of Service, this Usage Policy, or Applicable Laws.
The actions described above are cumulative and may be taken in any combination. Nothing in this section limits any other remedies available to us under the Terms of Service or Applicable Laws.
10. Changes to this Policy
We may update this Usage Policy from time to time in response to changes in Applicable Laws, Provider AUPs, security risks, product capabilities, or operational needs. Updates become effective on the date posted at the top of this page, or on such later date as we may specify. Your continued use of the Services after the effective date constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy. For material updates, we may require you to re-confirm acceptance before continuing to use the Services.
